Yup, and everyone of those years was 'the year of Linux' because
Linux market share increased every single year. Desktop market share
does not churn overnight. Linux is not a tidalwave, it is the
steadily rising tide that is eating away at the Microsoft coastline.
Winvocates can ignore it or deny it all they like... but that doesn't
change the reality of increasing Linux desktop deployment any more
than it changed the realities of server deployment.

Seriously, I hope it does, being a sensible man. Do the math.
Recommended reqs. of Vista are somewhere around:
2.5ghz
1gb mem
100gb HD
256mb graphics card.
Average system now:
1.5 ghz
256mb mem
80gb HD
32mb graphics card.
There's gonna be a lot of systems being replaced, and the old ones
gotta go somewhere! In this neighborhood that ends up being me! Yay!
Anyway, I'm off to (responsibly) go drinking with some pals!
Happy new year to all!

Wow, In a few short months it will be the tenth anniversary of my first
introduction to Linux. Granted I didn't start really getting into it
seriously until a couple years later, but I was on the path to
enlightenment.
Another revelation, I've logged over 10,000 posts in COLA since first
posting here back in 2001.
Things are going well. Linux/OSS is officially mainstream and no amount
of FUD can detract from that. It still needs more exposure on the
desktop, but it's making great progress in all other aspects of computing.
Sorry for my lapse of late, been pretty busy. I've merged my shop with
another local company. They had the resources, and I had the talent and
knowledge, so it was a good move for all.
Still loving living the Linux Life, baby! All the best to you guys for
2007. Keep the faith, spank the trolls, and further the cause!

Irrelevant. If it is a part of a whole that makes - in the mind of the OP -
a good system. You have to compare systems if you want to be honest.
