I've been using view_attachment.sh from Eric Gebhart (no idea how to
reach him...) for some time to view my attachments using mutt on OSX. I
recently noted that under Leopard I was getting errors with it :(
Actually this is caused by the change in the 'file' command which under
Leopard uses -I for --mime instead of -i (SUS specification).
To patch view_attachment.sh simply replace "file -bi" by
"file -b --mime". Now everything is back to normal (i.e. working).
Best,
Sylvain

Hello all,
I would like to define a mutt save hook like this
save-hook '^List-Id: <(.*)>' =lists/$MATCH[1]
So, if I press 's', the message is saved in the folder that
corresponds to the mailing list.
Is this possible with mutt?
Thank you,
Johan

First, my apologies because this isn't strictly specific to
mutt.
I'm trying to figure out if there's a way to accept/decline
meeting invitations when one is using an IMAP client to read
one's mail on an Exchange server. I use mutt, but I presume
users of other IMAP clients find themselves in a similar
situation. I haven't really found any thing by googling
various combinations of exchange, imap, invitation, accept,
etc.
Can one accept/decline a meeting invitation by sending a reply
in some defined format? If yes, where can I find some
documentation on what the reply is supposed to look like?

Dear all,
one in a while I get email messages in html. mutt displays them fine
by piping it through lynx, although this looses some formatting.
But then I sometimes get emails which have the same content twice:
once in plain ascii, one in html. Here, mutt also uses the html
content.
How can I configure mutt to take the ascii content instead?
Thanks,
Ulrich

Y A O H Ć S H U A
FACTS SHOCKING BUT TRUE!
1. The real, original and genuine Name of our Creator in the
original Hebrew Holy Scriptures is 'YAO-HOO' and that of the
genuine Messiah is 'YAO-HOO-SHUA.'
(accented on the syllable 'hoo')
2. Salvation is found in nobody else for there is no other
name under heaven given to men for salvation except:
'YAOHĆSHUA' - Acts 4:12, Holy Scriptures.
3. Whoever calls upon the Name of 'YAOHĆSHUA' shall be saved
from all the curses and penalties of sin, such as poverty,
diseases, failures, bankruptcies, losses, earthquakes, wars,
frustrations, AIDS, torment, insanity, family breakdowns,
rebellions, divorces, tragedies, natural catastrophes,
violence, death and hell - Deuteronomy 28, Holy Scriptures.
4. All have sinned and come short of the glory of YĆOHU UL,
the Holy One of Israel; and the wages of sin is death. That's
why unless a person is spiritually REBORN, he cannot enter
the Kingdom of YĆOHU UL! - John 3:3, Holy Scriptures.

Hello,
what can I do that mutt translate subjects starting with "=?UTF-8?
Q?..." to latin1? Mostly the encoded chars are german umlauts which
could be properly displayed in my "de_DE@euro" environment.
Thanks and best regards,
Tobias

Now I can get all mail from other mail servers using fetchmail and
getmail, like 163.com. However it doesn't work from gmail.
I can only get mail in inbox from gmail, can't get mail in other box.
So how can I get all mail from gmail using fechmail or getmail.

I am using the mutt mail client connected to an imap server (running
bincimap).
On the server, I have a maildir directory structure as follows:
~/Maildir/cur
~/Maildir/new
~/Maildir/tmp
I have existing mail messages in ~/Maildir/cur
When I connect to the imap server from my mutt mail client, I can see
and read the squillions of existing mail messages:
mutt -f imap://neptune
From the mail client, I want to move messages to a subfolder for
processed or read mail, so that the messages no longer appear in the
primary message list.
How do I do this?
I am new to mutt and imap, so I don't really know how to use these yet.
(I am used to "Outlook Express" style POP3 mail.)
Mark.
