Hi, all.
I have a cron job set up to run a Perl script everyday. After
running, a pdf report is generated, which I try to send to my e-mail
address using Mutt:
mutt -a report.pdf -s "Report for 2008-Mar-28"
myemailaddress@ mydomain.com < "."
I get this error message when the cron job runs (or when I run it
manually from the command line):
"Error sending message. child exited 67 (user unknown)"
I can send the mail to my Gmail account without any problems using
mutt. The error I get in the log is "550 5.1.1
mydomain.com>... User unknown". I don't have problems
sending mail to other addresses. Prior to this, I had an issue with
spamhaus.org blocking my IP, but that problem has been resolved (as
far as I know) since I don't get any more errors listing spamhaus as
the culprit.
I'd appreciate any insight into this matter. Thanks!

Hi,
I'm using the msmtp program (set sendmail="/usr/bin/msmtp") to send
mails from mutt. However, when sending mails fails for some reason (in
my case because I'm tunneling via ssh to an outside smtp server, and the
tunnel sometimes is broken), the mail is still stored in the Sent folder
(set as FCC in mutt). This results in multiple copies ending up in the
Sent folder at the end, when I make several attempts to send the email.
Is there a way to specify that emails where msmtp fails (mutt seems to
know about that, because I'm being displayed the error message inside
mutt as "Output of the delivery proces") should not be stored in the
Sent folder?
Thanks,
Michael

Hi,
I find the default color profile of mutt on my Suse 10.3 machine very
pleasing. But, where are these default defined? I'd love to put them in
my .muttrc so I can have them on other systems as well.
Any suggestions?
Michael

Hello,
I would like all attachments on a given mailbox messages to be saved and
removed from the messages. How could I do it?
Somehow related to this, how could I get attachments of new (just
received) mail be saved and deleted from the messages?
Te idea is that I want to keep the mail folder small, without any
attachments kept within the messages, but saved as files on an
"attachments" directory somewhere on my home directory (outside of my
mail directory).

Hello,
How could I tag (or somehow select to be deleted) duplicate messages?
Of course I want to delete (tag for deletion) all but one of the copies.
For instance, if I have two identical messages, I want to delete one; if
I have four copies, I want to delete three (and keep one). The way mutt
shows duplicates on thread view es excellent, and it's easy to delete
duplicates when you have only a few, but when it comes to the hundreds
or thousands (when mixing two old mailboxes, for instance) it's a bit
time consuming and I'd like to somehow make it automatic.

Is it possible to sort messages according to whether they have an
attachment? If not, how about show only messages in index that have
an attachment?
Thanks so much,
RD

Hello,
I've got a number of mail on a mailbox which I would like to reduce in
size by getting rid of all attachments which they might contain.
Is it possible to automatically get all attachments on mail on a mail
box (or all tagged mail or something) and deleted from the mail? I
could further check whether some of them I already have stored somewhere
else (by looking for duplicates) or I don't need (and delete from the
disk).
Alternatively, a way of selecting (tagging, sorting together or something)
all mail with attachments would do. I then will save and delete
attachments by hand, if necessary.
