i am working with LV 8.2 on a event-based application.

Basicly my entire application is based on:
* a while loop
* inside this while loop i have an event-structure (with about 70
event-cases)

One of the events is my EXIT button which asks if the user really
wants to quit the application and it the user chooses YES in the EXIT
dialog a true signal is connected to the NI EXIT VI.

That works almost as supposed, but i am wondering about one small
issue:
--
I would expect that the EXIT VI quits the application and the app-
window should be gone.
Unfortunaly my application ends BUT the window itself just changes its
style and does not disapear as expected.
Basicly the changed app-window then looks like a LabView window in
porogramming mode, but not like an running application window anymore.

Target:
--
EXIT button should end my app, as it does already, but the app-window
should REALLY disappear.

Might that behaviour be caused / related with a setting of the projekt-
main-vi ?
Or am i just mis-using the EXIT-VI itself ?


Any feedback is heavily appreciated.

that can talk to the Syscomp DSO-101 oscilloscope and WGM-101 waveform
generator. It's been tested under Labview running on Windows and Linux
platforms. It's Open Source and a screen shot of the generator edit

2. CircuitGear
--------------------
We have just launched CircuitGear, a combination Oscilloscope,
Waveform
Generator and Digital I/O. This is a 20MS/sec dual channel scope, 2MHz
arbitrary waveform generator, 2MHz hardware random noise generator and
8 bit
digital input-output port, all fitted into the same pocket-sized
package as
the DSO-101 oscilloscope.

CircuitGear is currently shipping with basic functionality in the
software
including spiffy new screen readout displays. We're porting spectrum
analysis, Bode plots (vector-network analyser), XY plots and all the
other
features of the DSO-101 scope and WGM-101 waveform generator to
CircuitGear
and expect to post that software by the end of this month.

As usual for the Open Instrumentation Project, the software is Open
Source,
licenced under the GPL, and runs on the Windows, Linux and Mac
platforms.

With CircuitGear, now possible for students and hobbiests to own - and
carry
around with them - a complete electronics lab.

3. Laplace Cookbook
------------------------------
The Laplace Cookbook is a new paper in the Application Notes section
of the
Syscomp web page. The paper is a mix of theory and practice, showing
how to
determine the sine-wave frequency response and transient pulse
response of
an electrical network. The paper shows how to use Maxima, an Open
Software
Computer Algebra system, to generate theoretical results -- and how to
confirm these results with measurements using the Syscomp WGM-101
waveform
generator, DSO-101 oscilloscope and Bode Plot software.

During last 2 weeks, I can't see a VI through Run-time service of
LabView
7.1. Using an other PC, I can see the VI.
I have installed LabView 7.1 with Run-time and I've checked the
correct
plug-in (I installed also for Firefox).
I repaired RT installation and then I re-installed LabView 7.1.. but
none.
Using the PC of my collegue, I can see the remote Panel VI!!! Why?
I use Windows Vista, with its Firewall (I shut off it, but none).
Anyone can help me?

I have problem with exporting the data to a excel file. I am using a XP
system in German which uses comma "," as the decimal point , and I also set
"Use localized decimal point*" under the FronPanel Options to be true. But
the exported excel file can not recognize (or just ignore) the comma for a
whole column (flow rate), for examle "1,234" (1.234 in non-german system)
would be 1234. But if I open its text file where the data came
from by calling Excel directly, there will be no problem. Is this a bug of
LabVIEW, or I forget some settings?

P.S: The LabVIEW version is 8.2.1 and the Office version is Office2007.
