Dear Editor,
I would like to comment on an article in the New York Times of 31 May 2007.
In the article "Career Bureaucrat Rises to Prominence in Housing Crisis"
a reference is made to the age of the Fortran Language.
The age of Fortran is correct, but a Editorial remark to the fact that
ANSI is still upgrading the features and still keeping it alive and
kicking would be nice.
The size of the usergroup is far under estimated, in engineering and
science it is one of the major programming languages.
Kind regards,
Jan Gerrit Kootstra
