My ISP no longer provides news feeds, and I switched to Tera News. I
find that I read but posts don't show up. I hope it gets worked out
soon.

There is always groups.google.com. The downside is that you need
a valid email address to register, and you can't scramble that address
in post headers.

Easy enough... Create a free account and don't bother checking it.
Put a note to that effect in your posts.

Jerry - why? SuperNews has been GREAT for me. I pay $3.95/mo for
unlimited text groups.

I posted that (and this) via Google, but I find it too hard to follow
a thread here. It doesn't keep track of what I've already read.

IIRC I had the same problem with Tera News...though I just tried the
free service...
I wound up going with Usenet-News.net -- you just pay for a block of
data transfer, which lasts until you use it up. But I badly
overestimated how much bandwith a newsgroup would take; I got a 10GB
block, and at my current rate of consumption (c.l.f. is the only
newsgroup I follow), it looks like that will last me 150 years or so.

Try:-
< http://www.individual.net/>
I have found that my software "Kontact" handles the streams from them
reasonably well and it is easy to follow threads.

Just thought I'd add to the discussion that panix.com will
still sell you a shell-only account for $100/year, with
mail and news, so that you can use your preferred older
UNIX shell-based newsreaders, and they are committed news
admins who are not going to discontinue/degrade their feeds.

Hi Jerry,
I've gleaned these from other peoples postings:
===
Assuming that your Usenet needs are modest, use
http://news.aioe.org/ for free.
A minor FYI, motzarella's free news servers,
http://motzarella.org,
which I find quite reliable, add no ads - sort of a free
brunch ;-).
===
Maybe helpful (shrug). I haven't had to try something like
this just yet...
