Do you have any idea when the starter kits will be available for the merely
curious possibly-prospective customer and for how much? I have no idea what
I might do with the S24, but I'd still like to get my hands on a kit just to
see what I can do with it.

The documentation for this could be considerably enhanced by the addition of
a well explained non-trivial reference design. This is a whole different
concept and is a bit of a mind bender for those used to more linear
single-processor designs. A working example would go a long way toward
helping re-orient one's thought processes towards how 24 fast, but
severely-memory-limited processors, can be used to solve a processing
problem. Factoring taken to a new level?
