Gavino,
I am not using it and honestly was not aware of its existence. I just
googled on "forthos" and found the home page for this site. http://
www.forthos.org/
There is a question/answer section but it appears activity on that ended
in 2005. I too am curious as to whether anyone is using this. I quickly
downloaded the ISO and tried to install this under Linux running VMWare
abd got it to "boot" there. I looked on the aforementioned home page for
documentation but failed to find much.
Good luck.

Hi,
A friend wrote a IP plus TCP and UDP for it, along with some basic PCI
support and a driver for some breed of ethernet card (I don't remember
offhand which model it was). He even married it with the TTY support to
support telnet into the system.

If you get interested enough, you can do a hard disk install and then
there's the source code.

No, you just haven't looked for the right way to get in touch.
(Googling with some reasonable search terms will lead you there.)

Correct, it's multiboot compliant.

I've never run it under an emulator; my only experience is with actual
PC hardware.

Thanks! For detailed help, get in touch with me via my web site (I would've
sent you a direct note, but I didn't spot your E-mail address in your
message). I doubt it'll ever be a major project for me again, but it
has a lot of fun stuff in it and I'd be happy to help others play with
it.

Thanks for the reply, Andy. My direct email is later in this posting, but
I'm making some headway ...
I've created a qemu flat disk image, and using mdconfig on FreeBSD, I've
partitioned it with a 158 partition ID, copied the ForthOS stage 1 and 2,
and the Src10000 file onto it in the specific offsets recommended. I've
also done the first part of installing Grub on the boot sections of the
drive, but I've not added the Grub scripts to test it yet.

Happy to help. And also, I *do* own forthos.com and would be happy to host
any bits you come up with to help with ForthOS. I could also re-activate
the NNTP server if folks felt it was getting too noisy on comp.lang.forth.
