  self destructing programs

Author: kvt

Hi,

One of my friend puzzled me to write a program which destructs itself.
i.e, by the time it stops execution, its executable file should be
deleted.

I tried a lot like
a) using " system() function to deleted the running program"
result: Access denied

b) googled for logic of other self destructing programs
result: not turned up

c) searched groups. They suggested using a .bat file, invoking the bat
file from currently executing one and through bat file deleting the
current executable after we have finished.
But in this case also, we are leaving residual (.bat file).
result: not a perfect one, only a remedy.

d) after system() function Access denial, i got a thought, as OS is
protecting the currently executing program, it is not possible to
perform anything explicitly on it. so what about taking a pointer in
the current program and filling the entire program space with garbage.

Welcome to comp.lang.c++! Read this first.

This post is intended to give the new reader an introduction to reading
and posting in this newsgroup. We respectfully request that you read
all the way through this post, as it helps make for a more pleasant
and useful group for everyone.

First of all, please keep in mind that comp.lang.c++ is a group for discussion
of general issues of the C++ programming language, as defined by the ANSI/ISO
language standard. If you have a problem that is specific to a particular system
or compiler, you are much more likely to get complete and accurate answers in a
group that specializes in your platform. A listing of some newsgroups is given
at the end of this post.

The FAQ (Frequently Asked Question) list has a wealth of information for
both the new and veteran C++ programmer. No matter what your experience
level, you are encouraged to read the entire list, if only to familiarize
yourself with what answers are available to minimize redundant replies.
The comp.lang.c++ FAQ is available at http://www.parashift.com/c++-faq-lite/

If the FAQ list does not help, then many regular readers of this group
are happy to assist with problems of standard C++. We have only a few
requests that we ask be adhered to, for the benefit of all:

  default constructor

Author: Rahul
Date: Dec 8, 2007 21:14

Hi Everyone,

I have the following code and the compiler complains that there isn't
any default constructor available,

class C
{
private:
C()
{
printf("in private constructor of C\n");
}
};

class E : public C
{
}

E obj; // compile time error saying no default constructor
available in E.

However, it works fine if i change the constructor C() from private to
public access specification. I'm wondering why this is so?

  final class

Author: Rahul
Date: Dec 8, 2007 21:07

Hi Everyone,

I was searching for final class in c++, and i came across few links
which suggests to have the constructor of the, to be final class, as
private so that any derived class's constructors can't access the
same.

class C
{
private:
C()
{
printf("in private constructor of C\n");
}
};

class E : public C
{
public: E()
{
}
};

Allâh, Exalted is He says, "You who have faith! Have taqwâ of Allâh
and be with the truthful"; "...being true to Allâh would be better
for
them"; "... men and women who are truthful...Allâh has prepared for
them
forgiveness and an immense reward"; "Among the believers are those
who
have been true to the contract they made with Allâh. Some of them
have
fulfilled their pact by death and some are still waiting to do so,
not
having changed in any way at all. So that Allâh might recompense the
truthful for their sincerity..."
Truthfulness is the conformity of the outer with the inner, speech
with deed, and narrative with reality. [1]
Therefore truthfulness occurs in intention, speech and deed and not
just speech as many people may think. As such a person who informs of
something that is not in conformity to reality is not truthful, a
person who does a good deed intending to show off is not being
truthful, a hypocrite who shows faith but conceals disbelief is not ...
