Posting ID: IT/044067 Description: Northrop Grumman has an exciting opportunity for an entry level Unix/Linux developer supporting a government agency in located in Suitland, MD. Under the direction of a lead developer, the candidate will design, develop, integrate, and test NOAA NESDIS satellite data process software in Fortran/C/IDL under UNIX/LINUX environment. Candidate will maintain existing NOAA NESDIS operational satellite data process programs. The successful candidate will prepare reports, manuals and other documentation on the status, operation and maintenance of software. Assist in the collection and documentation of users requirements. Position may require support of operational applications with 24x7 on call responsibilities.

Required Skills: 1 year UNIX, UNIX shell script and C experience.

Desired Skills: Knowledge of Fortran, Perl, CVS, IDL, Mcidas, XML, HTML. Knowledge of meteorological data format(HDF, BUFR, grib), Weather Satellite and or Weather Model data.

Education B.S. in Computer Science, Meteorology, Mathematics, Physics, Atmospheric Sciences or Similar field or requisite work experience in lieu of degree.
