Hi,
HCI most of the time focuses on tips and guidelines. It investigates
user experience, mental models, conceptual models, metaphor, user
performance in accomplishing tasks.
But considering industrial use i don't feel how it goes on with actual
Gui design. How to properly model interaction with user. UML as far as
i know do not address GUI design. There is no commonly used models to
abstract from particular platform. I think user interfaces are build
using drag-and-drop technique, sketches and most of issues are not
modeled, but just kept in mind by GUI programmer.
Am i correct ? Can anyone point out proper direction. Is there either
UML extension or any other technique (that is popular) used to describe
and model interaction between user and GUI. Any visual languages that
facilitate building model of GUI and could be used to automatically
generate code, GUI from model (that could be XAML, XUL, HTML files).

Kind regards,
