Personal computer maker Dell Inc. said Wednesday it would pay ousted former
Chief Executive Kevin Rollins $48.5 million in cash related to expired stock
options. Dell's board also agreed to make allowances for some current and
former employees who hold in-the-money options that expire while they cannot
be exercised because Dell is late filing its fiscal 2007 report due to
accounting irregularities.

Technology is giving the healthcare industry a potent weapon against
counterfeit drugs. With the latest offering from IBM, pharmaceutical

can create an electronic certificate of authenticity (known as an electronic
pedigree or ePedigree) for every drug that passes through the supply chain.

find a members-only airfield where four flight teams were auditioning
for the
future role of "Honda sedan of the sky." The event was NASA's first Personal
Aircraft Vehicle (PAV) Challenge, a test of experimental small-seat

with a prize purse of $250,000. The contestants all flew modified planes

IBM plans to move 3,400 to Littleton | Yahoo Finance
IBM plans to move 3,400 employees to its new software campus in Littleton,
Mass., the technology giant plans to announce Tuesday. As the Boston
Business
Journal first reported last month, IBM has agreed to lease a vacant 494,000-
square-foot building at 550 King St. in Littleton, beating out Raytheon Co.

IBM today announced that Kupat Holim Meuhedet, one of Israel's major
healthcare providers, has deployed DB2 Express 9 to enable its EasyMed
patient management system. EasyMed collects data from more than 1,200
servers
(supporting 2,300 doctors) and transmits this information to a centralized
server on a daily basis. Meuhedet chose DB2 Express over Oracle Lite in a
head-to-head competition after determining that their existing proprietary
database was unable to meet increasing usage demands. DB2 Express provided
them with a full-featured relational data server in a footprint that
could be
easily deployed to their customers.
