Sometimes it's in the best interest for everyone to be polite but firm
in saying what the user wants is not really the best solution. Have
you considered a database library where users could simply go to a
Notes database and click on database links for the databases they
need? This would eliminate the need for users to use the Open
Database dialog at all. A well managed library would have other
benefits too.
As you say, creating a precedent for changing the directories on the
server is going to lead to more work. You could end up changing the
same folder over and over again.
