Hi all,
I do a crop to the picture (png) and it takes about 2 seconds.
I just cut out a bit from the original picture that is 1.2MB.
I have tested ImageMagick and GraphicsMagick packages in Linux.
GraphicsMagick does the job faster than ImageMagick.
So, I am asking if someone knows a Linux console tool that
might be faster. I do not know if it is possible to do it faster
but I think so.
We are able to do some programming as well. If there would be
a graphics library that might be used. We can consider that
option also.
Help is appreciated.
BR, Indrek

There is a page used like a "notepad" concerning the development of a
new software for 2D drawing, filtering, composing and image
processing.
This work mix raster and vector based tools.
The core (portable for any OO language) already has more than one
million lines of code, since it has been made absolutelly fom scratch.
No libraries, no imports.
Several math models and algorithms has been created to be used inside
this software, including:
- boolean (set) operations over arbitrary polygons;
- warping of vector based shapes;
- self-intersecting polygons simplification;
- 2D fast anti-aliased rasterizer;
- texture sinthesys.

Hello,
I want to create multi-resolution icons and am looking for suitable free
software to do so. I have PNG-images in the proper sizes
(16x16,32x32,48x48) with alpha transparency and would like to convert a
set of such images to an ICO file.
I have googled and tried out several programs, but haven't found
anything that allows me to do what I want. Either they don't support
transparency or they don't support multi-resolution or are not free.
Any recommendations, please?
Greetings,
Thomas

I want to create full-scale images which occupy only 2-4k bytes
each so that I can download them to cellphones without costing lots
of bandwidth but which will nevertheless fill up nearly the entire
cellphone screen so that they'll be easily viewable on that tiny
screen. Shrinking down the image to a thumbnail on a desktop
computer screen is no good because then the image would be a tiny
spot in the center of the cellphone screen virtually useless. I
need to do this on a semi-public computer where I am not allowed to
download&install new software. I have to use the software that
comes with the system. I looked in the menus for the "Paint"
accessory but couldn't find anything like this. Does anybody here
know how to do what I want? I think the computer system is Windows XP.
(I'm posting this...

Hi,
I would like to create a GIF file which appears as a slideshow of
multiple images with a fade-in effect. On image would gradually fade
and tunr into the next image. Also, I need a caption to appear in
small font at the bottom and outside the image. Is there a tool
(online or desktop) to do this?
Thanks,
Yash
