Wednesday a tanker truck overturned on Interstate 55 at the northbound
Lemont Road exit. Dawne and I were on our way back from court when I
noticed all of this smoke coming from what turned out to be ten miles
to the west of us, so since I am a guy (Dawne said she thought it must
be a "guy thing", we had to go and check it out. Good thing we didn't
take the Interstate itself, which turned out to be a parking lot for
miles in either direction. Instead, we took a frontage road that I
knew would take us right past the site (by then news of the fire was
on the radio).
We pulled up to the site and there were all these guys (yes, mainly
dudes) pulled over standing on their cars trying to get photos with
their cameras. I was surprised the Authorities let us get as close as
they did to this fire--and even allowed traffic to continue right past
the scene.

I know a very tiny bit about emergency/hazmat response and i'm ...
absolutely and utterly appalled to hear there wasn't a foam rig nearly
instantly available... esp. in that part of the state.

I'm very surprised myself.

The problem is, there ain't much money going to the actual departments,
and what is going has to be diverted to bullshit that bureaucrats like.
There's no romance in putting out fires; for that they can use the 20-
year-old stuff.

Because she is a nigger, and that's what niggers's parents do.
