Twister sends dog on a Toto-like ride

There's a Rottweiler in Richton Park that probably should be renamed
Toto.

That's because three people say they saw the dog lifted up by winds as
a tornado swept through the southwest suburban town Saturday. The
scene they described, like something in the film "Twister," is not
implausible, said Northwestern University's Chuck Dowding, a
geotechnical engineer. Based on the dog's size, weight and wind
velocity, "It could happen," he said.

The 130-pound Rott, named Chase, was getting hugs and treats Sunday
from his owners, Sandra and Sidney Holmes. The dog, who was in the
yard when the storm came, was found shaken but unharmed about a block
from their house, they said.
