Shazam report wizard and Absolute Database

Author: fig000
Date: Sep 17, 2008 15:57

Hi,

Sorry if this is the wrong forum. This seems to be the only one
with any traffic that has some mention of the Shazam report wizard.

We're looking at getting away from dbf files due to the 2 gig
limit. Absolute database supports (at least they say they do) ttable
objects and some others we have in our old delphi 5 code; we're
trying
to leave our codebase as is as much as possible. However we also use
Shazam which does not have Absolute in it's supported database list,
though there is a custom type. We have so many shazam reports, it
would be almost impossible for us to use Absolute if the two can't
co-
exist.

Does anyone know if it's possible to use the shazam report wizard
with Absolute Database? Also any advice on finding a bde replacement
that allows us to leave most of our delphi 5 code as is would be very
helpful. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Fig000

hello
This is Amitoj Singh from punjab.
i am lecturer in computer science.i have done MCA and now interested
in PhD.
i am working on agile software development techniques from last 6
months especially on extreme programing..
There are some specific areas for research which i have gone through..
like.
->Integrating software architecture centric methods in extreme
programing or in ASD eg. QAW,ADD,ATAM,ARIDS...they have heavy
documented..but finding a path to minimizing documentation and in
quality of the software
->Embedding Architecture practice in ASD especially in XP.
as ASD use JIT(Just in time) technique to develop architecture but in
some cases it should be build architecture upfront ie project in which
requirements are known in advance.
->Knowledge management strategy in ASD...ie how to...

Info on SOA, TOGAF, Virtualisation, SaaS etc.

Author: reshma
Date: Aug 23, 2008 06:53

Hi all,

I recently moved south to Bangalore and I am working for a large
software integrator. My project team is working on a project that
applies TOGAF to SOA. Are you able to point me to online and offline
resources/trainings that can help our team get up to speed with SOA
features and building blocks, the TOGAF architecture development
method, and how to use TOGAF to create SOAs. I am also in charge of
implementing virtualisation and/or SaaS in our company.

All the help that group members can provide in this regard is much
appreciated.

Thanks,
reshma

  Tiburon suggestions

Author: Ian T
Date: Aug 21, 2008 19:11

How about a new newsgroup for Tiburon suggestions ? Suggestions
posted to Quality Central may or may not be read and taken on board,
but there's often very little indication as to whether they've been
accepted or what support they have from users. A forum would let
Codegear know what we really want, rather than them telling us what
they're prepared to offer us.

How about some seriously useful programming tools built into Tiburon :

1. An integrated profiler (e.g timing and frequency of method usage)

2. A style checker (such as CodeHealer) but more sophisicated (e.g.
unused method parameters, low use global variables, public methods
which could be private, "With" with possible ambiguous links, etc,
etc).

3. Firebird support

4. Full release of TClientDataset source code.

5. Non-volatile lookup fields to be integrated into and saved with
TClientDatasets.

6. A database report generator (or a range of components for the
purpose)

7. An IDE editor that doesn't slow down after multiple edits.
