  Team programming

Author: gjuan3000

First of all, excuse if this isn't the right group.

I work in a very small company where I used to be me only programmer
(Delphi 2007). In this days, two more programmers will be working with
me and this is my first experience with team programming.
I must now work with documentation tools, bug trackers, etc., to
improve team work.

What I need is for you to advise me in some tools for this tasks. I've
been googling and I found, for example, the TracProject (http://
trac.edgewall.org/wiki/TracProject) but maybe there is something
better.

Thanks a lot.

Book to support Delphi 2007 Course

Author: FALvarado
Date: Aug 7, 2008 13:29

After almost a year, I finally got authorization to use Delphi 2007 for
a new project. None of my customer's programmers "speak" Delphi, so I'm
preparing an intensive course for them, just to teach basics concepts so
they can understand my source code. Can anybody recommend a book small
enough to support this course?
Best Regards

  What I like about VS

Author: Vincent Bergeron
Date: Aug 7, 2008 08:16

Hi!

I'm new to VS and C#. Doing little projects in C# because we're implementing
SharePoint solutions. But I'm a D7 day-to-day user.

What I like about VS, it's all the "Solution" thing and how it works.

For example, I create a solution, add a Class Library, add a Console Test
Application and a Forms application.

I write my classes in the Class Library. Than I tell the Test Application
that I use the Class Library project. I can test my classes in the console
application just by adding this refecence to the proejct. Can do the same
thing with the Forms application.

I never used Delphi above Delphi 7. Can this sort of thing be done? Is there
a "Class Library" equivalent?

I also never used projects groups in Delphi. Can we achieve the same thing
using this?

Waiting for your answers.

Thanks

  Interop for Delphi?

Author: John
Date: Aug 7, 2008 06:41

Hi All,

I used Turbo Pascal through Delphi 7 but was pushed by a job to enter
the Dark Side. One Microsoft technology that is useful is their
Interop Toolkit. That allows a VB6 program to host .NET controls and
forms. I would like to revisit an old Delphi 7 program but, ideally, I
would be able to add .NET Delphi to it. Does such a beast exist?
Thanks.

How to find the reasons for Form's unloading/closing

Author: Yogi Yang 007
Date: Aug 7, 2008 06:35

I have not been able to find any way for detecting the reasons for
Form's unloading/closing.

How can we find out the reason for which form is being
unloaded/closed...? OnClose event is not helpful here.

I have managed to list the following reasons:
- User clicks on the close button
- Form is told to close from code
- User is logging off Windows
- Windows is shutting down
- User closes End Task's the program from Task Manager

TIA

Yogi Yang
