Jeez...that was the last thing I expected to read this or any other morning.
I regret never having the opportunity to meet him personally, because there are
very few people on this list with an over the top sense of humor
(as opposed to the stick in the mud crabby ass types),
I just know I would have dug hangin' with him. As it is,
I am glad I got to know him to a certain degree here on blues-l.

Besides all that, the man could sing the blues.
There's more to be learned about what Mike had been living with and through at
his website:
http://www.bluestew.com/

RIP Blue Stew, at least till you find the table where they can
appreciate your sense of humor...then let it fly.

You all have heard the vital news that Blues Diva extraordinare and 2008 Blues Award Nominee, Candye Kane, will undergo a very serious operation next week for a life threatening type of pancreatic cancer. I hope you will take a moment and drop her a supportive note at Candyekanetour@aol.com.

It's hard to fathom the extreme burden she and her family must be under right now.

The "We Love Candye Kane Benefit" for this big hearted woman, mother and friend, an extremely talented singer, songwriter, performer and life activist, will be held at Humphrey's
Backstage Lounge (San...

Wow. this is a sad day. I agree with c.n.
I wish I could have put a face with a name before today.
I appreciated his comments on and offlist.
With the challenges he had to deal with in life he was not a "Bah humbug"
type.
RIP bluesman...Six Strings Down
