I have recently heard a lot about Gallagher AND Ritchie Blackmore in regards
to the Fender Stratocaster. I never been much of a listener of either one. I
have since looked on youtube for those two. I sold both those guys short &
I can certainly see why some folks dig 'em. I still don't 'get' Jimmy Page
though

Ok, I'll admit it, no make that I'll admit two things...sometimes all the
rock blues crap out there that passes for music clouds up my head so bad I
can't hear straight. The second thing I'll admit is that, after viewing this
video clip of Rory Gallagher at the Isle of Wright, in my own mind I
have drastically sold him short. Sometimes listening to the audio just
doesn't move you like seeing the pictures flying by at the same time does.
This is one of those, imo. Here's to youtube, and even more so, to
Roy...another in a long line of talented players lost waaay too soon. Btw, I
mean sumbitch in only the most flattering of "down here in Texas" ways.

This morning, in my search for vapid content, I stumbled upon one of the
more amazing remembrances of musical history by one of the hundreds of
musicians who easily fit into that large category of those who once were
giants, but whose names are hardly known at all these days (Fred knows that
list better than most anyone on this one, or at least his is longer in the
tooth).
Anyhow, this particular lady referred to one of the other giants in the
music industry as the OAO, in a way that inferred that she was wasn't the
only one who used that term in relation to this performer. Anyone have any
idea who she was talking about? I can't give away too much, but one clue is
that this person did play and sing the blues, as well as some other styles
of music, in the first part of the 20th century.
Later today I will post the answer, as well as a link to that great article
I pulled it from....if someone hasn't already guessed it.
