RJL Systems announces its new Cyprus 1.0 Body Composition Software

Author: Gary Kono
Date: Sep 22, 2008 08:04

I've had the Cyprus 1.0 on an old computer which has basically
crashed. I lost all of the data etc.
In any case I've placed the CD into a new Mac laptop computer.
Following the installation
instructions, I hit the "cyprus.exe" icon but it displays: "cannot be
run in DOS mode"...
what do I need to do???

thank you Dr. Gary Kono

this site is 15 years old, so i thought that maybe meanwhile the
animations are available for free ?!

  RSG-India at HGM - Notice

Author: chinmay
Date: Sep 17, 2008 21:32

RSG-India at HGM 2008!

We are very happy to inform you all that RSG-India has been given an
opportunity to have a booth at the Human Genome Meeting 2008 to be
held at Hyderabad from 27th-31st September 2008!

Regional Student Group – India (RSG-India) is a student organization
dedicated to the development of the Bioinformatics and Computational
Biology student community in India. RSG-India is part of an initiative
by the Student Council of the International Society of Computational
Biology [ISCB-SC] to improve Computational Life sciences’ research and
learning around the world at a closer and more involved level.

HGM is the annual conference organized by the Human Genome
Organization HUGO, designed to update and increase knowledge in the
field of Human Genome research. HGM is one of the ‘must-attend’
conferences in the international conference calendar. We at RSG-India
are very excited about this opportunity. As far as we know, this is
the first time a student organization has been allowed its own booth
at an international Conference of this stature.

Needleman-Wunsch - producing more than the optimal solution -- please help

Author: almurph
Date: Sep 17, 2008 07:48

Folks,

I want to modify the Needleman Wunsch algorithm (pseudo-code here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Needleman-Wunsch_algorithm) so that it
produces more than the optimal solution.

What I want is the optimal solution, second optimal solution, third
and so on do the chain.

Problem is though I don't know how to do this. Can anyone help
please? Any comments/suggestions/code-sample would be most
appreciated.

Thanks,
Al.

CAIcal is a web server and a software that performs several computations in
relation to codon usage and the codon adaptation of DNA or RNA sequences to
host organisms.

This web server is freely accessible at http://genomes.urv.cat/CAIcal

For more details see the article Puigbo P, Bravo IG and Garcia-Vallve S.

  Sequence alignment from BLAST output

Author: ab
Date: Sep 12, 2008 22:43

Dear all,

Sorry about the silly question. Is there any website where one can
BLAST microbial genomes with a protein sequence, select a subset from
the BLAST output and make a multiple sequence alignment (with
CLUSTAL_W or equivalent) without the need to individually copy/paste
every selected sequence into a separate file ?

Thanks very much in advance.

Best,

Anirban.
