> People have a right to protest if they want to as long as it is
> peaceful.
of course they do... this is a self-evident statement... although it appears
that our governments prefer to repress this right by suppressing dissenting
voices, limiting access to information and demonizing those whom express
disagreement...
> Surfing the Net this weekend I have seen and read new
> newsreports on Bin Laden surfacing and new Al Quada initiatives and
> new leaders raising up in Al Quada.
an interesting question i read elsewhere was raised in regards to this
latest release, "why was it released to the government and not to the
internet as had previous videos?"...
> Recent arrests in Germany of a cell that was planning attacks.
and they were caught, like any criminal usually does by local authorities...
and not by an SS-styled militia-like arm of government...
> If they get a dirty bomb in North America it could get nasty.
if...
> We have to worry seriously about Vancouver being a target.
perhaps the 2010 olympics might be a useful forum for terrorists, otherwise,
canada is nowhere on their radar as a list of targets... we would be better
off worrying about becoming casualties of violence due to the drug wars...
> The war will be long and on going with more protests
> just like Vetnam decades before.
unfortunately so...
> An attack on Iran is likely.
and a first-strike is the strategy that the neo-cons have adopted... which
will unfortunately only trigger a nuclear holocaust that everyone on this
planet will regret... even the pretext of striking iran because they've been
developing nuclear capabilities is bogus since the only country that has
attacked another with a nuclear arsenal has been the country that fears such
an attack from what they deem to be their enemy... if this doesn't smack of
self-destructive paranoia to more people willing to do something to stop
this madness, then we deserve oblivion...
> If USA opponents will not support the USA Air Force Bombing the nuclear
> sites, Israel has already been practicing to do it on their own, if
> the USA will not.
is this justification for a first strike?... or is it a reason to pause and
consider the implications of military action over other forms of achieving
resolution?
> Protest if you will, but we are at War and there is
> nothing that we all can do about it. Protesting will have no effect.
for someone who's had experience in the military, it appears you've
succumbed to the delusion of forcing compliance on another... how
unfortunate you've chosen to ignore the many examples of protesting
throughout history that have in fact facilitated change... and how
unfortunate it is that you've chosen despair over hope and courage...
> The Draft is likely to come in the USA as the USA troops are
> overstretched and undermanned. We could see the draft in Canada if we

actually, i would support a draft because that would have the net result of
enlisting the offspring of those whom otherwise advocate war without having
to bear the consequences of such advocacy...
> God, if there is one, save use all. It is a sick World.
even if there were a god that would intervene in the lives of humans on this
tiny speck of a mudball, his/her/it's response would be that it is up to us
to fix the problems we've created ourselves... otherwise, we would learn
nothing and forever be dependent upon such intervention to keep us from
fulfilling our true potential as a species... iow, it's up to us to either
survive or die... the rest of this vast universe cares not either way, and
if some advanced species were to observe the rampant lunacy here, they would
be far wiser to choose not to place themselves in the position of eternal
babysitter to a species of savages...
> We are better
> going to other Planets and starting again, which I think will happen
> sooner then we all think. See my recent "off topic" posts on NASA's
> anti matter engine
fanciful and wishful thinking that resolves nothing because if we're not
able to resolve our own self-created problems here on earth, we will only
transport them to another world to begin this cycle of destruction all over
again... and until we can actually learn to transcend the crap we create, we
are and the universe is better off by our not trespassing on other worlds
only to simply destroy their beauty as we've been doing here...
> Scott Ritter is errevelant
only if you've given up hope...
