"Save to VCR" on a TiVo is just a generic term. It's function just
disables
most buttons on the remote so you do not accidentally call up a menu and
ruin
the transfer. It also prevents any automatic messages from popping up
(like
"Tivo needs to change channels on the tuner you are not watching...").
It also creates a title page that will identify the show.
