Survey: Baltimore a hot destination among Presidents Day travelers
Baltimore Business Journal - by Ryan Sharrow Staff
Baltimore may be 35 miles from the White House, but that's not stopping
tourists from spending their long Presidents' Day weekend in Charm City.
That's according to a recent list from travel Web site
Priceline.com
ranking the top 50 destinations travelers are choosing for the national
holiday.
Baltimore's Inner Harbor took the No. 3 spot on the annual list, while
Washington, D.C., ranked 46th.
Norwalk, Conn.-based
Priceline.com (NASDAQ: PCLN) compiled the list by
looking at more than 30,000 hotel room reservations made for the weekend
through its Web site.
New York City's Times Square/Theater District took the top spot on the
list. The Las Vegas strip ranked second.
Philadelphia was No. 45 on the list.
The top 50 destinations included 33 "warm weather" places, such as
Florida, Hawaii and California.
