Sure, any good or service. Though I don't see a CD and bonds as
either really, but more of a guarantee from a borrower to return the
lender's principal along with a modest return for providing them some
short term capital. If anything, the borrower should probably pay tax
for the service of being loaned the money. If you are purchasing the
services of a servant, a doctor, or a hooker you should provide the
tax money up front. Don't want to pay the tax? Don't buy the product.

I don't disagree. But if they choose to live like paupers, I think
it's perfectly within their rights to be taxed at the same degree.
