Shares in Australia & New Zealand Banking Group Ltd.,
Australia's fourth-largest bank, plunged more than
10 percent today after the bank announced that its
annual profit could fall by up to 25 percent due to
the Howard/Costello non-core "prosperity" trap.

Thanks to Australia's massive household debt
burden, inflation will slay most Aussies.

AUSTRALIA LOSING ITS SNOWY MOUNTAINS SNOWPACK COVER ... with comments from Australia Mining Pioneer Sir JP Turcaud !!

IS GLOBAL WARMING THE DEATH OF THE SNOW INDUSTRY ?

Quote
...
Warming and snow tend to end in tears, or at least liquid. For every
one degree rise of temperature snow lines rise by 150 metres. If
science is right then it doesn't bode well for we lovers of all things
white and frozen. Miss Snow It All is no scientist but the CSIRO
employ them. Their 2003 report predicted Australian resorts would lose
half their snow by 2050 and a quarter in fifteen years

The report recommended doubling the amount of snowmaking to get
resorts through to 2020 but the report was also partly funded by the
ski industry who have been madly investing millions of dollars in new
snow guns, reservoirs and towers since.

One of the more telling quotes... comes from Janette
Howard, who like her husband, believes there was no
firm commitment...
------

"You talk about a whole lot of things when you're
trying to convince people to do things, but you
don't go back and honour every single one of those
unless you have made a firm commitment about it
and John wasn't into making firm commitments."

Out of control Northern Iraqi Kurds in conjunction with Southern Turkey
Kurds have now become the new Al Qaeda.

Thank you Bush, Blair and Howard for a new wave of terrorism unleashed with
the destablisation of Iraq.

ISTANBUL, Turkey (CNN) -- The death toll from two deadly explosions in
Turkey continued to rise early Monday as government officials confirmed 15
deaths and more than 150 injuries.
An injured woman and a child are taken away in an ambulance in Istanbul.

Istanbul Gov. Muammer Guler called the blasts "an act of terror," and said
the devices were placed 15 meters (49 feet) from each other. The first was a
stun grenade that was detonated to draw attention before the second blast
went off, he said. One bomb had been placed in a trash can.

Guler said police have launched an investigation into who is responsible for
the blasts. No claim of responsibility had been issued late Sunday.

The blasts happened within 10 minutes of each other in Istanbul's crowded
Gungoren community about 10 p.m., Zafer Karakoc, who witnessed the
explosions, told CNN Turk. Karakoc is a journalist with Turkish news agency
DHA.

Labor to continue Howards Internet Censorship dream

What the fuck is it with the major parties trying to "control" the
internet??

The biggest fear that the media and political establishment has is that one
day everyone will stop listening to them and instead the public will share
knowledge and truth over the internet. A shit scary thought for almost all
politicians, and we see the power youtube now has on both elections here at
home and also in the U.S

My suggestion to the major parties is to stop trying to control the internet
and instead protect it with the same protections as freedom of speech,
within the boundary of law. It's not just a fad that will disappear, it is
quickly becoming the 21st century community of world citizens.

THE federal Government will embark on the next step of its internet
filtering strategy after initial trials proved successful, Communications
Minister Stephen Conroy said.
Senator Conroy today released the findings of a recently concluded ISP-level
internet filtering trial conducted in Tasmania by the Australian
Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) in a closed environment.
