Men convicted for ozone depletion

TVNZ, New Zealand - 18 Jun 2008

Two refrigeration engineers have been convicted by a court for depleting the
ozone layer.

The Ministry for Economic Development prosecuted the two men in the first
ever case taken under a 1996 law protecting the ozone layer.

The pair released an ozone depleting substance, chlorodifluoromethane
HCFC22, into the atmosphere as they were repairing a drinks chiller, and
ignored a warning that it was hazardous.

The Ministry said it took the case as a warning to industry. The two were
convicted and fined $750 each.

Permits are needed to handle HCFCs, which will be banned under an
international agreement from 2015.

Christian doctrine is offensive to Muslims, the Archbishop of
Canterbury said yesterday.

Dr Rowan Williams also criticised Christianity's history for its
violence, its use of harsh punishments and its betrayal of its
peaceful principles.

His comments came in a highly conciliatory letter to Islamic leaders
calling for an alliance between the two faiths for 'the common good'.

Apparently male Giant Squids have 1.5 metre long penises with which
they impregnate the females using them nail gun style to fire sperm
into the tentacles of passing females who in turn store the sperm and
