We have laws. They should apply to EVERYONE regardless
of their religion, political views, gender, age or ethnic background.
While all citizens in this country have freedom of speech,
by convention, not as a right, we place limits on libel,
slander, vilification and hate speech. You can be
arrested for shouting fire in a crowded theatre.
Unlike the USSA we do not put people in gulags without trial,
unless they are women and children fleeing to our shores as refugees.
And we do not try people based on hearsay, secret testimony, or evidence
gained under torture.
Some people, in positions of leadership, have additional
responsibilities. They are expected to promote and maintain
national unity by nor discriminating or speaking from prejudice,
or supporting those who hold extremist and violent views.

Australian Jewish Leader Seeks Prison for 'Denier' Toben
http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story/0,20867,21072034-5006787,00.html
The Australian
Pia Akerman and Richard Sproull
January 17, 2007
Holocaust revisionist Frederick Toben is unable to find a lawyer to
defend him against allegations he has raised "serious doubt" about the
Holocaust on his Adelaide Institute website.
In a subpoena served on Monday night, Jeremy Jones - the former
president of the Executive Council of Australian Jewry - asked the
Federal Court to jail Dr Toben for breaching four-year- old court orders
because his website suggests:
"It is unlikely that there were homicidal gas chambers at Auschwitz".
Mr Jones also alleges the website imputes that Jewish people who were
offended by Holocaust denial or challenged Dr Toben's theories were
"of limited intelligence".
Well seems the limited intelligence has infiltrated our courts???

I used to look after a coal fired steam generator at BHP in Whyalla.
From cold it took at least a week to bring it on line.
From warm it took a day or so.
From hot standby it took about 2 to 4 hours.
You can try to rush things, but chances are something will break if you
do and set you back a fortnight.

As it has for decades.
Still pristine wilderness after decades of punishment? Seems like the
army has been looking after it OK doesn't it?

Get stuffed - Woolies are one of the major reasons Australian consumers are
getting ripped off due to inflated fuel prices. Woolies and Coles are both
offering exactly the same 10 cent per litre discount while keeping
their normal price artificially high so they can afford to offer the discount
yet still make a profit above their contract price for bulk fuel purchasing
from Shell (Coles) and Caltex (Woolies).
They're doing the same thing with food products - offering consumers prices
which seem to be discounted, but the actual price paid to a farmer is
probably 1/10th or less than what the end-user gets charged.
Beth.
