The maps are free but Nokia are claiming the voice guided navigation is a
subscription service on Nokia Maps, which is what the N95 uses.

The article is referring to the N95. No one gives a flying red fuck what you
have or haven't seen on your 6110 - It's as irrelevant as the rest of the
shit you pollute usenet with. The 6110 uses Route-66 software and maps which
are not even close to what's used on the N95.
