Who said Jap stuff was shit?
They make okay (if somewhat boring) cars, and a lot of Euro stuff is good
(just not anything from Italy or France). *Some* American stuff is great,
but a lot of it is crap.
English stuff is almost universally rubbish.

Still, that's in-laws for you. Mine has a VN Commy Berlina with a 4 cylinder
Camira engine in it, and every time I visit there's something on it for me
to do :)

I'm keeping my turbo diesel 'lux forevever, and would
not touch eurotrash even with a very long stick.
There they make vehicles that are a disposible item.
