The Chicago Motor Show will be the venue for the introduction of the
production model Dodge Challenger, including the range-topping SRT-8
model.
As reported previously, there's already a substantial order bank for the
new coupe, which is more retro-hero than Robin Hood.
Chrysler has released new images in advance of the show and, whilst some
of them have been seen before, there are more shots of the car in action,
including a nice one with a sort of 'Dukes of Hazzard' motif, showing the
car in flight.
Some of the pics recall the halcyon days of musclecar print advertising,
which featured bright, primary colours and a lot of contrast and shadow
for dramatic effect.
All that's missing is the nubile young woman wearing a leopard-print
bikini, and draped over the bonnet.
Fuck I want one!
The car that is! :-)

I want one too. Wasn't it rumoured here a while ago that if it was
released in Oz, it would be called a Charger?
This was before the sale.
I will get in early and say the Charger on sale in the States is an
insult to the name.

There's something not quite right with the body's proportions.
It's too 'deep' side-on. It's *almost* right though.
The new Camaro has the same kinda thing going on, but they've handled it
better and made it work:

Awful interior - specifically the instrumentation and steering wheel.
It's afflicted with that styling so prevalent in the latest yank
offerings (Holdens suffer from the same disease too). But it's still a
much nicer interior than say, the Mustang.
