I've started putting picture links into the table now, so that'll give you a
better idea of the items that are up for sale.

  security ...

In the apartment building here is taken really
seriously, and yes would be a PITA to not have
your keys/tags surgically attatched to your body.

After getting the total and utter shites with needing
to use a spare key, or the turbo timer to remove key
and use tag and put back in ... ordered a remote.

OK, no proof required of who I am required, just
gave the address and my name (which could have been
John Doe for all they cared) drove to their francise,
$75 later I have a Magic Button thing that opens and
closes the outer carpark doors. Hours of fun.

The locksmith dude that changed the lock on the storeroom
took all of 5 seconds with two simple tools.

For some reason this does not invoke feelings of
security of my everything.

Prolly be able to order a security tag without proof
of residence too.

A mate has an aging EF Fairmont. He is considering getting rid of it. It's
done over 230,000km and I may be interested in it as a work car. It would
only have to travel 40km every 10 days.

He said that it may have a bearing problem. When it's idling the oil light
comes on. He "fixed" it by putting a heavier grade oil in it. He can't
hear any knocking, but I s'pose that it'd be a matter of time.

The auto sometimes clunks fairly loudly when changing from first to
second. The unit was serviced and he said that the bands/clutches etc. are
set correctly.

It's also on gas which makes it attractive by itself.

What do you guys think of the above?

I might be able to pick it up for $500 to $800.

  Who owns a GPS?

Who of you owns a GPS, or more specifically a car navigator?

Tom Tom, a Netherlands based company has reported 80 percent reduction in
revenue. One of the reasons cited is that while prices have dropped,
volume of sales hasn't increased in proportion to maintain profit levels.
This is because the market is probably saturated, an analyst said.

Thing is, I know of very few people who own GPSes and I move in circles
where people tend to buy gadgets and modern appliances.

So, who is buying the bloody things. Or is that the point - while they're
now cheaper than say 3 years ago (my Tom Tom one cost me close to $900 and
they now sell for around $300) perhaps people still aren't buying them.

I goes on to say this about navigators:

"Some drivers may prefer to stick with that option, printing route maps
before they set out in the car. Others buy built-in navigation systems
that integrate with a car's design."
