  New Pontiac G8

I had a chance to stop by the Pontiac dealer to look at the G8. Good
looking car. They had a 4-door sedan and a GT side by side. Both nicely
equipped but not fully loaded. I think I like the look of the Commodore
front end over the Pontiac. I didnt care for the seat covers on the 4
door. Had too many bright colours for my taste. The sedan had the 3.6 V-6
with 5 speed auto the GT was 6.0 6-speed auto . The sedan showed fuel use
to be 14.7 L/100km city and 9.4 hiway. the GT was 15.6 L/100km city and 9.8
hiway. Sedan was 27400usd the GT 30900usd w/o tax and license. but the
dealer had a $6000.00usd "Phoenix market adjustment" on both of them on
top of sticker price. A couple of interesting things I noted was on the
window sticker on the sedan it showed 52%% Australian content with the
engine...

  update on the Civic Hybrid

Nothing detrimental to report other than I have already got over 7k's up and
overall fuel economy is 4.2 litres per 100klms.

The two amazing things are how the motor stops when you do, still slowly
getting used to that one and the power it has when you gun it as the
electric motors work exceptionally well in conjunction with the engine.

The way the klms are creeping up, the 40k's replacement level will be under
the usual12month replacement interval I change cars at.

Interesting bit of viewing. My only concern is where the road passes under
bridges - They don't appear to have left much room for additional lanes in
the future. Within 5 or 10 years they will need to expand and will have no
room to grow.
