On a History channel show, I was surprised to hear, that Thunderbolts and

"150" octane fuel.That figure seems high? IIRC about 121 or so is the
current high-comp petrol.

One story which used to get around was about some 'leftover' avgas at a
local airport after an airshow. About half a 44 drum's worth. Anyway, one
fellow filled his Morry low-light (SV 4 cyl, about 850cc and low
compression) with the stuff. The engine lasted about 150 miles before it
spat out its exhaust valves.
