I've been watching AMW lately, and there have been a number of gruesome
murders in South Florida. The thing that makes these unusual is that
they've taken place at malls in wealthy areas, during the day, and the
victims are either women or women with children. There have been 3 deaths
so far, and it's quite frightening. The suspect is white, asks the victims
to drive to an ATM to withdraw cash, and then kills them. In all 3 cases (1
survived), the victims were driving big black SUVs. I do not wish to see a
repeat of this here in Australia. If attending a mall, park as close to the
entrance as possible, and out in the *open* (as opposed to a multi-level
parking garage which is where these took place). Check that there's nobody
around or in the car before going near it - the...

On the return trip to Rocky last night from Northern NSW, we called into the
Maryborough Speedway for the Australian Modified Production class titles
Finals and was very impressed with a Mitsubishi Magna V6's performance.
It certainly wasn't the handling that let it down as it cornered better than
the bigger Commodores and Falcons. It was the lack of power from a not very
well tuned engine that let it down.
Whilst the RWD Falcadores were revving their guts out doing oversteered
corners, the little FWD Magna just waited for its chance to inside pass,
only to be passed again on the outside on the straightaways. I didn't
witness any of the poor behavoural handling problems you guys go on with in
here.

Just returned from a trip to Northern NSW in my new Honda Civic Hybrid and I
can assure you all, what a pleasant, great on the environment and even
better on my wallet experience it was. I was amazed at the power the
electric motors and the 1.3ltr engine gave. Anyway here are the stats for
those of you who are genuinely interested.
Total mileage travelled..............1,880klms.
Total fuel used..........................72litres E10 ULP (filled it twice)
Total fuel cost...........................$89
Mix of 80%% highway driving (at legal speed limits AND not under it) and 20%%
city driving.
At this stage, I am very, very pleased with my purchase. When passing
another vehicle on a single lane the experience of hard acceleration with a
CVT gearbox is somewhat daunting to begin with, but I soon got used to it.
