Just got back from nearly a week in Northern NSW. Very
pleasant holiday, some very windy roads (should have video'd
some of them), and some very fantastic views.
First speed camera we encountered, down near Kyogle
somewhere, noticed the huge warning signs, etc, and
commented about it to the missus. No sooner had I said "I
dunno how anyone could be stupid enough to get caught by one
of these", and some stupid appears out of nowhere behind us,
overtakes on double white lines, and zooms through the speed
camera site (80 zone, estimate a bit over 100). Sure enough
the camera flashed.
Yup, there's some stupids around, and we share the road with
them.
The few fixed cameras I saw, certainly made more sense than
the QLD method of hiding them. Except for the idiot above,
they seemed to do...

Does anyone remember that "general rule" formula that estimates a
quarter mile time based on nothing but power and weight?

A friend of a friend had an ECU reflash and the other usual things
people do to modern cars (exhaust, cold air, etc) and now gets 277kW
measured at the wheels in his Chrysler 300C SRT.

He reckons he'll run mid 12s, but will find out for sure this
Wednesday night at Eastern Creek.
