Hilux starter has finally died (sortof) and I need to move it.
Currently it's arse is backed up to a fence and it's slightly up hill
to go forward.

Is it bad to tow from the front diff? I get a bad feeling about it but
I'm fucked if I know where else to attach it to. If I tie it to
anywhere on the chassis the rope would tension up against something
more delicate once I started towing.

Took an i30 CRTD for a drive yesterday and to say I was impressed, would be
an understatement. I'm fairly sure there will one in RogerM's garage very
soon.

Interesting to note how bad the "hybrid" Toyota Prius performed.

The new Hyundai i30 1.6 CRDi turbo diesel has beaten an array of diesel and
hybrid rivals to top the fuel efficiency stakes in the Greenfleet class of
the prestigious Panasonic World Solar Challenge. The i30 CRDi consumed just
3.2L per 100km and emitted just 97g of CO2 per kilometre over the 3,000km
journey from Darwin to Adelaide - outperforming not just Toyota's Prius
hybrid but also diesels from Peugeot and Audi and even a BioBike.

The i30's accomplishment is all the more noteworthy because it is Australia's
newest and most affordable diesel passenger car, its retail price of $21,490
in SX trim offering a saving of over $15,000 compared to the less fuel
efficient Toyota Prius.

Up until around 1950, it was not uncommon to see cars using the
"thermo-siphon" principle to circulate hot water from the engine up into the
radiator top-tank,..then as it cooled, it would drop down thru the radiator
simultaneously displacing cooler water back thru the bottom hose into the
engine again.

Was this system as efficient as pump-assisted cooling? Dont know, but in
some old footage WWII stuff, you can see TS being used on trucks as well as
Jeeps. One might guess, that the hotter the coolant is, the faster it will
circulate.
