But I do not see an impact that would have set it off!

Indeed.

The trade practices act exists to protect the private citizen from the rogue
commercial trader, not one private citizen from another. I would doubt that
it has any authority over everyday ordinary folks, and even if it did it
would most likely assume that they are not expected to be experts and allow
then a fair degree of ignorance that would not be shown to "professionals".

Caveat Emptor applies when dealing in private. As far as I'm aware, the only
recourse Joe Public has against another Joe Public is in a civil case.

Eating your relatives is illegal as well, but I believe that still goes on
over there too.

What other useless wastes of money do you have?

Senna's soiled underpants? :)

  Question regarding my Chev 350

Author:
Date: Oct 12, 2006 03:01

Hi All,

A problem has popped up recently with my 350, which in itself is
unusual because in the 12 years or so I've had it there's rarely ever
been a problem.
While driving it home from work one night, on a freeway and doing 100
k's, it's lost all power. It was still running but just wouldn't put
out any power. As I went to pull into the emergency lane it's kicked
back to life and off I went again. It did this about 4 times all the
way home.
My first thought was the fuel pump so this has been replaced, along
with a new fuel filter. I was sure that was the fix but it is still
happening. At first I thought it was only happening when the car was
doing around 100 k's but today it did it at about 60.
I suppose it could be that the carby needs cleaning. Maybe dirty
petrol?
Any other ideas?

They call it the 419 scam after the legislation introduced to make it
illegal.
