I just posted that! but if you look what they fit, then it pulls them
back into the scene.

Just like the hype over the A380 being the world's biggest plane,
they've ignored anything built outside the West.

"the first private plane that will fly at 1.6 Mach"

I guess the Mach 1.8 Sukhoi/Gulfstream S-21 doesn't count. Granted they
haven't sold any yet......

Cheers

Now all we need is for governments worldwide to get over the whole
"supersonic flight is always going to produce huge noise" and rewrite the
rules so that instead of restricting supersonic flight, they restrict
supersonic flight if such flight causes loud sonic booms.

Modern aerospace technology allows the production of supersonic aircraft
that are nowhere near as loud as the Concorde and governments need to
realize this and change the rules.

Wow Jonathan you've instantly zeroed in on the
nitty-gritty here - quiet sonic booms are obviously the way
to go.

This should not be too hard to achieve. The intensity of
sonic booms is roughly proportional to the aircraft weight
and size.
