Reading the report on a airbus just out in the UK .
The report mentions in its analysis section that neither of the crew
had any training in flying in that type of aircraft on stand bye
instruments .

It just reflects a view that resorting to standby instruments was in the
"can't happen" category, and that the instruments were only there to
pacify the regulator. This view is further supported by the fact that as
originally implemented, the standby instruments did not have an
independent power supply for illumination.

Crap - they are *exactly* the same shape/format and give the same
information as the primary ones - only, usually, a tad smaller in size -
let's not get too pedantic about this.

duff sheep.
Blardy hell - spent 2 weeks at cadet camp in 1960 eating 1 man ration packs
dated 1945 :-(
If you tried to do that nowadays the RSPCA'd have you!
