Does anyone know if that airport (St Marteen) is going to be used for
A380's? Could be some very funny scenes.......

Can you imagine the chaos if an A380 driver hits the TOGA tit on
short-short final there? The beach would get blown away :D Literally!!
It would be good to get on camera though.

Great footage!

following is more info:

http://www.thedailyherald.com/news/daily/k178/blast178.html

Doubt the A30 will ever make it to St. Marten given that it's only 2380
meters long and at best 50 meters wide.
I understand St. Marten doesn't fall into the ICAO code F & Faa Group VI
Cats anyway, requiring some 4000 meters in length and 60 meters wide.
Perhaps I stand corrected on this one though.
Judging from personal obs a few years back, I don't think they can extend it
either.
I've read several views recently that claim that the A380 can actually land
at any aiport a 747-400 can land at. The problem is then, can the apron's
and facilities handle them?
