To the contrary I have found Sylvia to be one of the more intelligent
contributors to the group, but thanks for your input. I will take your
advice on board, with an appropriate weighting factor, along with the
useful information people have kindly provided.

Take R323A and R323B ( Westernport VIC) there is a current NOTAM
deactivating them until Nov 19 should I still check with ATC before
flying through before then? or can that NOTAM be withdrawn at any
time? ( obviously I would always check the NOTAM is still valid on
the day of my flight).
Perhaps a better question to ask is what would others do in this
situation?

Terry
323 is a good example to mention. The deactivation is strange as it's navy
gunnery - perhaps the budget cuts means they have used up their year's ammo?

What heights do 105 rounds go to (as used at Holsworthy, ie) - I go up to
only .300 WM........

Brian, now you have raised even more questions
what do they use for the tow aircraft and what is "the target"?
where does this tow aircraft take off and land?
Presumably if it is outside the restricted area they wont be shooting
at it?
when you say you hear daily of aircraft penetrating it, do you mean
via ATC ?

Terry
Paul has covered the generality of the towing.
I think a mob at EN have the contract. The a/c was at Avalon Airshow one
back I think. I also think they have/had one piston twin at times.
