I read in this morning's West, that QF intend spedning some 50 Million on
refurbishing terminal facilities in Perth. Not before time I might add!
There was a mention of Perth now having some 8 million passengers annually.
One wonders if Virgin will follow suit? Last friday picked up my son on the
10.30 pm Broome flight, which as usual arrived late at 10.55 and it was
just unmittigated chaos as both Sydney and Brisbane flights arrived at the
same time. Upstairs lounge is nothing short of tatty, tired and dirty. This
wasn't a "one of", it appears to happen day and day out.
Last time the windows were cleaned was in 1995 methinks. The old cracked
glass overlooking the apron is still cracked.

I wouldn't be surprised if Virgin hasn't spent a cent on that terminal...

I don't think Virgin "took it over". It's under WAC control and used by
Virgin, Skywest, Alliance, OzJet and probably other sundry operators except
those regionals who have their own terminals..
This means of course there's no chance any work will be done with it.

G'Day Sir Pits!
Thanks for the link, makes fascinating reading. Have not yet digested it all
yet, but will do so in the near future.

Sounds like welcome news. I've only been there once. I wasn't overly impressed,
given that it's one of our capital city's major airports. More like an overdone
regional. Shit, CNS had better facilities, I thought.

If that's where we waited for our VB flights back to Oz (sorry, I meant the
eastern states, Vic in particular), then it wasn't that flash. Not much in the
way of food vendors, other than stale-ish sandwiches and pita wraps, and crappy
meat pies. Still, the food was better than what was offered on the flight, and
which we had to pay for...
