Particularly as it sounds like a public convenience.

We went through it with that idiot Steve Crabbe as Minister when they
renamed the Grampians "Gariwerd" to realise our aboriginal landowners.
I don't think anyone ever used the rename.
Syl, you got it. There was an aboriginal long term lodge or sit in in ML
and they painted their flag on the side of the toilets. Many felt there was
a subtle message (to them) in that.

Brian, it's not just the local government bods, Mate, WA Tourism, WA's
bastion of self indulgence and self promotion are part of the plan. WA
Tourism are the proponents of promnoting the likes of Broome as well, with
it's stinking camels along what was once a great beach. The claim that
camels are indigenous to Broome accompanies many a claim. All bullshit err
camel shit actually, they were brought in to Broome in the late 70's by one
"abdul kazley" a white australian who parked them, much to the chagrin of
locals around the now cable beach area. They got that bad, one Broome Shire
Councillor, an Elsta Foy, wanted reflectors on their asses. I digress, I am
sure there is some "cultural significance" as well in chaging the name. To
that I say Cultural significance, my arse, to me,...

So it was you, was it you who sat in front of Castways opposite the Roey
bottleshop day in and day out and had to be hosed down every few hours?
lmao
I digress, I believe in essence, the idea to change the name from Learmonth
to Ningaloo came from a "local"
tourism operator. This person, obviously lacking in any sense of history and
the value of a heroic history, has made an approach to the Exmouth Council
who in turn has done what they supposed to be doing, that is to inform the
general public of the suggestion.

Don't laugh - the only facilities were the good old three people cold water
green toilet block and shared by several hundred campers. Hic!

Yes recall the shower well, alas it's gone now, made way for an
amphitheatre.
As we speak Broome Council has now put out a paper with two options, keep
the minimum of 3 camel operators with 48 camels on the beach or allow for 6
operators. The mind boggles, might be an opening for Exmouth's tour operator
as a 'pooper scooper"to cledan up after the camels. Imgine all the noxious
gasses floating around Cable Beach compliments of said Camels. Far worse
IMHO than those grass smokes you refer to Brian.!
I digress, Broome really has a nice airport!

As I read that I started to think you were referring to Horrie, the Wog Dog
( Ion Idress, 1948)
but you weren't :-)
