It wasn't meant as a criticism. Most USA aviation museums contain
examples of ideas that *might* have worked, and I guess their
continual experimentation derives data for other ideas that do work.
That's the real value of this sort of mucking about.
Mind you, the amount of $$ they are prepared to spend to try something
out is pretty awesome at times....
