Probably the latter.

I watched a show on pay TV last night called "Air Rage". A pommy show and base
mainly on BA, it refered to a number of incidents where pax got violent, rude
and obnoxious on the flight. Mostly it was due to these dickwads getting pissed.

All involved said that alcohol was the major problem but none of the airlines
have even considered the banning of alcohol on long haul flights.

Maybe if they don't ban it, then perhaps consider charging a premium for it as
they do with domestic flights.

Most of these people too, seemed to not give a rats arse about how other pax or
the FAs and tech crew thought about their behavior. So, yeah, if mobile phone
usage is allowed on flights and you're stuck next to somone who is on their
phone all night I can see more than just drunken pax getting into trouble.
