I'd say that it's more for getting rid of people such as those pesky
customer/passenger service agents than anything to do with embracing technology
for any sort of efficiency gains or to "better serve the travelling public".
In any case, in that news item it's not doing anything that United or Singapore
Airlines are not doing at present...
