It's a beatup.
Did the plane fall out of the sky? How many died as a result of this
flagrant breach of regulations??
Additionally, her hands and feet are nowhere near the controls, the
captain has gone for a leak, the PF (pilot flying) is the FO. She's
brought a cup of coffee forward and she just sits in the seat discussing
tonights party. Some idiot takes a photo and sends it to media and they
don't know any better.
This sort of thing has happened for years and will continue to happen. I
have had the pleasure of flying a Friendship from airborne Moomba to the
Outer Marker in Adelaide. I was on a famil ride. The FO was a friend I
shared a house with a few years before. Captain asked if I would like to
have a go - you can guess my answer - and he promptly disappeared into
the cabin and left me to it with the FO providing advice. Thoroughly
enjoyed it, especially the vectors in IMC on descent. It was pretty
touchy on keeping it level at F240 - it was easy to fly like a porpoise
swims - no way was I going to use autopilot! It still brings a smile to
my dial 26 years later.
