How long is it taking for medicals?

Dr sent my medical (grade 2) off to CASA on Feb 22nd. I still havent
got my certificate back, despite pleading with them by phone and email
last week, ( my medical had expired and I had booked an aircraft for
a trip with some friends). Are others having similar delays?

Good Luck.......

CASA are useless!!!!!!

C!@#s Against Sensible Aviation is what i believe the acronym stands
for.

It took me about 2 months for my last medical to come through.... and
several hundred dollars

I assume if it cost that much because you had some problems that CASA
wanted adressed. As far as I know I had no issues that should have
caused them a problem. My previous medical was a grade one. It has
got me stuffed why they have professional doctors authorised to carry
out examinations and yet they cannot approve you to fly, or even give
you temporary certificates until the official one arrives. I'm glad I
wasnt relying on it for my job.

I did my renewal about 5 weeks early and got my new certificate nearly
a full week after my revalidation expired. I missed 4 days of flying.

Have a look at http://casa.gov.au/corporat/sds/sds.asp?group=PLET

I have asked the question of my good colleague the CASA PMO.

It wouldn't be bad for the year thus far if it were true! I agree with
you Craig. I *-know-* there was creative book-cooking because the stats
doesn't agree with my recent experience. Did you really expect honesty
from the CASA propaganda machine?
