GB - You vote for VB as well.
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
It’s GOLD for Virgin Blue!
Virgin Blue is celebrating a gold and two silvers after being named
‘Best Low-Cost Airline’ (Australia/Pacific), as well as receiving second
place honours worldwide in the ‘World’s Best Low-Cost Airline’ and ‘Best
Cabin Staff’ (Aust/NZ) categories, in the 2008 Skytrax Awards.
This is the third time Virgin Blue has taken out Australia’s ‘Best
Low-Cost Airline’ gong in the prestigious Skytrax awards, having been
awarded the same title in 2002 and 2004.
Virgin Blue Chief Executive, Brett Godfrey, said, "Needless to say we’re
thrilled, while today we consider ourselves a New World Carrier in a
class of our own, nothing has changed about our promise to ‘keep the air
fair’, or our continuing commitment to provide genuine value and
affordable air travel.”
"In eight years, we have gradually evolved our business model to expand
the low-cost airline concept.”

I wonder how long before all airlines will be "low cost" insofar as cutting them
(costs, that is) goes.

I'm considering switching the other way. Of the six Qantas flights I've been
on in the last few weeks, four of them have been fuckups.
How does 23 hours from Melbourne to Auckland sound? Useless pricks.

Well forecast Snap - this (extract) from VB yesterday (and I agree with it
by the way)
The new pay-for-weight plan kicks in on fares booked from 18 August for
travel from 1 September 2008.
If flying on Blue Saver or Promo fares:

Me three. If I am late on I somehow find that all thses tiny 7 kg small
bags have takken every overhead locker, under half the seats ........etc.
It will be an issue - bit like the increased fees to go to tips - rubbish
left everywhere by those who won't pay. In this case I can see some classic
blues as the pax load aboard and someone is weighed in with 20 kg hand
carried!
