PATRICK CUMMINGS/RENO GAZETTE-JOURNAL
Office of Emergency Management Coordinator Jeff Page, right, addresses the
media on the search efforts for Steve Fossett at the Minden Tahoe Airport
with Major Ed Loocke of the Nevada Air National Guard in the background on
September 12, 2007.

Rescue aircraft and helicopters are continuing to follow strong leads this
afternoon in the search for missing aviator Steve Fossett 10 days after he
left the privately owned Flying M Ranch in Mason Valley south of Yerington.

Searchers are investigating a location identified by two separate sightings
of a blue-and-white aircraft making a steep diving turn into a canyon and
not climbing back out.

I often wonder why it takes people so long to pass these 'tips" forward.

that gels with my observations of the "find Foss via GoogleEarth" frenzy.

They're looking for a plane that's been down 5/7/10 days. Most of what I see on
G-E is about a year old, sometimes more. Have they somehow arranged a fresh
"look" into that part of Nevada?

Yes of course they have - as has been posted here at least twice, well
before you, and also reported widely elsewhere on the 'Net.

I can see you are on a bit of a cherry picking, nit picking cantankerous
pedantic roll here Paul in this and other threads - as only you know how
to work to the absolute death. Especially at this time every year ;-)

Which is why I'm ignoring your absurd post in the Whoops thread.

I respect your observance. Pity to let it dilute your otherwise valued
contributions by letting yourself become an absolute PITA to others.
